Hambi joins Quilter Investors as CEO and CIO
Investment industry veteran Bambos Hambi has started work today at Quilter Investors as chief executive officer and chief investment officer.
The Quilter group oversees £109.5 billion in customer investments.
Mr Hambi has worked in investment management for 30 years and joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he was head of multi-manager strategies.
In the earlier part of his career he spent a decade working at Quilter. His return to Quilter was announced earlier in the year.
Subject to regulatory approval, he will replace current chief executive and head of investments Paul Simpson who is retiring in 2021.
Quilter Investors is part of the Quilter group which includes Quilter Financial Planning (previously Intrinsic), Quilter Private Client Advisers and Quilter Financial Advisers (previously Charles Derby Group).
Mr Hambi said: “It is great to finally have started at Quilter Investors and I am looking forward to hitting the ground running. The business is now well-established following its rebrand back in 2018 and I am eager to work with the investment team and the executive committee in driving it through its next phase of growth.”
Quilter chief executive Paul Feeney said: “We are thrilled to have Bambos join us here at Quilter and we are really excited for the future of Quilter Investors with him at the helm. Multi-asset solutions are an increasingly important part of advisers’ propositions for clients, particularly in these uncertain times.
“We look forward to working with Bambos and the investment team in continuing to deliver innovative and successful solutions to our clients. I would also like to thank Paul Simpson for his service to the company. He has been instrumental in getting Quilter Investors to where it is today and I wish him all the best in his future retirement.”
