National advice firm Foster Denovo is piloting a new workplace sustainability programme based on psychology and neuroscience.
The new programme aims to bring the adviser’s workforce together through positive or colourful social interactions rather than “being doomy or preachy”.
A serious of bit-sized lessons demonstrate how many small changes can have a significant impact. Sor far the pilot has seen initiatives such as ‘Wear Your Oldest Clothes to Work Day’ which helped raise awareness of the impact of fast fashion, and staff competing for the opportunity to win a hamper by sharing their best sustainability tip.
The lessons include videos, games, quizzes, articles, themed days and influencer demonstrations.
The pilot is being run in partnership with Sue Skeats as a pilot of her 100 Ways in 100 Days workplace programme.
Foster Denovo is currently running a condensed ’20 Ways’ pilot which is due to run until the end of August.
Foster Denovo has previously run a number of staff initiatives that could be considered as being outside the box. The firm has created and launched a number of digital educational learning tools and programmes. This includes most recently the launch of its ‘Financial Fitness Show’, an online Talk Show style programme designed to help companies engage and educate employees on all aspects of personal finance.
Helen Lovett, chief operating office at Foster Denovo, said: “Over the last few years we have been challenging ourselves on how we can ensure we are embedding sustainability across our entire business – asking how and where can we do better to ensure we’re contributing to the transition to a net-zero carbon world.
“We wanted to empower our people with the knowledge and awareness of what we can all do at an individual level, as well as at a corporate level.”
The launch of the new sustainability pilot follows the launch of Foster Denovo’s range of active and passive sustainable portfolios. The firm said it wants to integrate sustainability across its entire business as well as in the services it provides to its clients.
