Wren Sterling buys 2 firms to add £330m in AUM
Fast-expanding Nottingham-based Financial Planner Wren Sterling has completed two acquisitions, Active Wealth Management and HB&O Financial Services, adding 860 clients and £330m in assets.
They are the firm’s fifth acquisitions since the start of 2022.
Active Wealth Management Limited will join Wren Sterling’s Glasgow office while HB&O Financial Services, based in Leamington Spa, will further expand Wren Sterling’s presence in the West Midlands.
James Twining, chief executive, said: “Both these deals will enable us not only to enhance the offering we are able to bring to clients but also improve the overall DNA of the whole company as we join forces with our new colleagues, who share our entrepreneurial drive and client first culture.”
He said the company plans to deliver important enhancements to its business this year covering brand, proposition and operating model designed to improve the client experience and drive organic growth.
It has also recently launched its newly acquired DFM as an attractive investment option for its clients.
Wren Sterling Financial Planning is a national firm of independent financial planners with nine UK offices and around £6.5bn in assets under advice.
The Wren Sterling Group is backed by Lightyear Capital, a New York-based private equity business that specialises in financial services investments, following a secondary management buyout that took place in December 2021.
In December it acquired north east-based advisers Morfitt & Turnbull (Management Services), which had around £270m of client assets.
