Quilter recruits adviser propositions head from Sesame
Wealth manager and Financial Planner Quilter has appointed Craig Ross as head of adviser propositions.
He joins from Sesame Bankhall Group where he was group proposition director.
Mr Ross began his career as a financial adviser, moving into developing adviser propositions for a number of wealth management companies including Standard Life Aberdeen and Charles Stanley, where he was promoted to director of Financial Planning proposition.
He will be responsible for the design and deliver of Quilter’s platform and investment propositions for financial advisers and will report to commercial proposition director Jenny Davidson.
Mr Ross said: “Quilter has a long-standing reputation for supporting advisers with market leading propositions and it is well positioned to develop these in the years to come. Amid regulatory and technological change, I look forward to understanding how adviser needs are adapting so we can continue to support exceptional client outcomes for them.”
Quilter added that the appointment of Mr Ross would help the firm to roll out its roadmap of platform and investment enhancements for advisers and their clients.
Mr Ross is one of a series of recent senior appointments by the wealth manager.
Quilter had a challenging year in 2023, with third quarter core business net inflows of just £1m compared to net inflows of £324m in the corresponding period of 2022 amid "challenging" market conditions.
The company said there were signs some clients were withdrawing savings, rather than topping them up, to keep up with soaring living costs.
Despite the fall, the wealth manager and Financial Planner reported stable AUM. Assets under Management and Administration were broadly unchanged at £101.4bn at 30 September 2023, similar to end June (£101.7 billion).
