The lang cat financial data provider has added actuarial consultancy AKG's financial strength ratings to its interactive online platform analysing tool.

Subscribers to the consultancy’s Platform Analyser will be able to use the financial strength ratings as a single measure when performing a screening or as part of a broader due diligence project.

AKG has been producing platform strength ratings for a decade. Its ratings assess a company’s financial strength at an operational level, including the platform’s capital and asset position, profitability, parental strength, operating environment, and ability to withstand external market forces.

Terry Huddart, head of proposition at the Lang cat, said: “The AKG ratings are a highly respected independent assessment of a platform’s financial strength and advisers have told us of their importance in due diligence exercises.

"We felt adding the ratings to Platform Analyser would provide a great deal of extra value to advisers using the tool for platform selection.”

Lang cat has also started to offer free updates on how platforms are responding to Covid-19 and MiFID 10% drop reporting.
