Life Planning guru plans UK silent meditation retreat
American Financial Planning guru George Kinder will be holding his second annual European Silent Meditation Retreat in March.
The six day event is aimed at registered Life Planners and meditation practitioners and includes silent practice with alternate periods of sitting and walking meditation, yoga and Tai Chi sessions. Three vegetarian meals are served and there is no charge for the event apart from accommodation costs and expenses. A double room for the event duration costs £650.
Mr Kinder, also a Financial Planning Today columnist, said: “I think of them as the best weeks of my life and as the best teaching that I do. They train us in the deepest form of inner listening, which helps us become better listeners in all aspects of our lives, and the best listeners become the best financial planners.”
Mr Kinder stressed the many benefits of meditation including being able to:
• Defuse stress and experience greater calm
• discover inner resources that can change our everyday lives
• awaken our capacity for insight and wisdom
• broaden our perspective and deepen our courage, based on seeing things just as they are
Each day is followed by evening discussions. Group or individual interviews with Mr Kinder take place everyday.
The event will be held on March 19-24 in St Katherine’s Parmoor retreat and conference centre in Oxfordshire.

It involves finding one’s authenticity, one’s dream of freedom and then living it.”
