MFP's Retirement Cafe marks 100th episode
The Retirement Cafe has marked its 100th episode, with founder Justin King of MFP Wealth Management helping more people plan for retirement via the medium of podcast.
The podcast marked its 100th episode since its launch in 2018 with an interview with Professor Andrew J Scott to discuss living and 100 year life, as life expectancy rises bring both opportunity and challenges for people of all ages. In the interview he talked about how to establish a framework to help us ensure a 100 year life is a gift and not a curse.
Professor Scott said: “We’re living longer and we’re healthier for longer. That sounds like brilliant news to me. I wanted to take what’s been construed as a very negative story about ageing and focus on the benefits of longer, healthier lives.”
Professor Scott is the pre-eminent authority on longevity. As Professor of Economics at London Business School and a consulting scholar at Stanford University’s Center on Longevity, Scott advises corporates and governments and is co-founder of The Longevity Forum.
Mr King is a Chartered Financial Planner, CISI Chartered Fellow and a Master of Life Planning with the Kinder Institute. He is also a SOLLA Later Life Accredited Adviser and co-author of Ready Steady, Retire!
Mr King said: "It was an honour to mark the 100th episode of the podcast by chatting with such a fascinating chap about his truly pioneering work. The premise of reinventing ourselves in our 50s to make the most of the next 40-50 years really struck a chord with me.“
