Milecross snaps up Milton Keynes Financial Planner
Acquisitive Northern Ireland financial adviser Milecross Financial has bought Milton Keynes-based Financial Planning firm The Martin Cliffe Practice for an undisclosed amount and plans further deals in 2025.
The deal is Milecross’s fourth acquisition of the year and will bring in £80m of funds and around 650 clients.
Martin Cliffe Practice’s team of seven, including four advisers and three administrative staff, will join Milecross.
Chris Thorndycraft, chief commercial officer at Milecross, said: “Their wide experience in wealth management, alongside an established mortgage book, is a tremendous addition to the Milecross family.”
Martin Cliffe, founder and financial Adviser at The Martin Cliffe Practice, said: “Selling your business is such a big step but I already had a long and trusted relationship with key people at Milecross and they really understood my business and what I wanted to achieve – both personally and for the team.
“I feel we’ve ended up with a real win-win for all – including, and most importantly, for our clients.”
Paul Dalzell, founder and chief executive at Milecross, said: “This marks the latest in a long line of acquisitions this year alone, and further extends our services as a leading UK-wide advice business.
“We are progressing with further partnership discussions as we head into 2025 and expect the business to continue to grow further and significantly in the period ahead.”
Earlier this year, Milecross also bought Northern Ireland’s Miskimmin Wealth, Southern England’s The Centre Court Partnership, and Scotland’s Osprey Financial Services.
Miskimmin Wealth has offices in Belfast and Ballyclare and is an established financial adviser business that focuses on retirement planning, investing, and mortgages. The deal added around 8,000 clients, a team of 18, and £130m of assets to Milecross.
The Centre Court Partnership has five advisers in Surrey, Kent, and Sussex and offers advice across wealth, mortgage, and protection. The deal added 2,000 clients and around £40m of assets to Milecross.
Osprey Financial Services is a long-established Dundee-based practice offering advice across pensions, investments, mortgages and protection. The deal added £30m of assets and around 600 clients to Milecross.
Milecross Financial was set up in 2005 in County Down, Northern Ireland. Since then it has expanded to having main offices Belfast and Glasgow and now has branches throughout Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. It has more than 100 advisers across 30 locations and around £0.7bn of assets under management. It said it arranges around £500m of mortgage lending each year. It is an appointed representative of The Openwork Partnership.
