The second day of the Morningstar Investment Conference was opened today, following a successful first day with over 400 delegates.
The conference was opened by Richard Romer-Lee, managing director of Morningstar Investor Consulting.
Today’s speakers include Edouard Carmignac, chairman of independent management firm Carmignac Gestion, Dave Fishwick, head of macro and equities investment at M&G and Philip Ehrmann from the Far Eastern equities team at Jupiter Asset Management.
Topics covered range from technical talks on behavioural finance and investment theories to the economic transformation of China.
After each speech, the conference is holding Q&A sessions with speakers which are proving popular particularly as delegates can post questions to speakers via their smartphones or tablets by using the new Morningstar app.
There will also be a panel session this afternoon on managing investment risk with panelists including Nick Cann, chief executive of the Institute of Financial Planning and Robin Stoakley from Schroders.
Yesterday’s highlights included talks by Nigel Bolton from Blackrock, Hendrik du Toit, chief executive of Investec Asset Management and Katie Koch from Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
