Nation's top Paraplanner for 2014 named by IFP
The Institute of Financial Planning has delivered its verdict on its top Paraplanner for 2014.
Dan Atkinson has been named this year's Paraplanner of the Year at the gala awards evening at Celtic Manor. The senior technical consultant at Truestone Asset Management, based in London, managed to win the judges' vote ahead of three other finalists.
Helen Parker CFPCM was the runner up and was given special commendation. Patrick Ingram, head of corporate relationships, at Parmenion, helped judge this category.
He said: "Overall, Dan's decisive contribution to the Financial Planning process stood out.
"He exemplified how the specialist skills of a Paraplanner complement the insights of client facing advisers and demonstrated this vital contribution to achieving great client outcomes."

Mr Atkinson lists his specialisms as pensions and tax planning, with the emphasis on a holistic Financial Planning approach.

Mr Atkinson is also involved in delivering cash flow modelling alongside advisers to their clients at his firm.
He said: "This is proving to be essential in the new flexible world of pensions as well as to communicate the interaction of objectives, financial circumstances, tax and our recommendations."
His current job involves providing Paraplanning and technical support to companies across the growing Truestone Group.
His responsibilities include distributing and managing workflows through the team of consultants, report writing, and helping to monitor and communicate changes or opportunities within the company.
Parmenion said it was delighted to support this award again.
