New directors from Brazil, Canada and India join FPSB
The Financial Planning Standards Board has increased its international reach in the Financial Planning world with the appointment of three directors.
The organisation, owner of the Certified Financial Planner certification, has appointed directors from Brazil, Canada and India.
Brazil and India are FPSB's fastest-growing territories for CFP certification.
Mari Emmanouilides CFP is chief executive of Brazil's Taler Group and spent 15 years as a director at Chase Manhattan Bank and six years as a senior financial consultant at Merrill Lynch.
Joy Thomas is chief executive of CMA Canada which grants professional designations in management accounting.

Sanjay Sachdev CFP is the president and chief executive of Tata Asset Management in India. He has 25 years of international business experience working with government and financial regulators. Mr Sachdev is the founding chairman of FPSB India and the member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India advisory board.
Their roles will start on 1 April 2013 and Ms Thomas and Mr Sachdev will serve four years while Ms Emmanouilides will serve two years.

Representing the UK on the board of directors is former Institute of Financial Planning president Barry Horner CFPCM and Tom Cross Brown, former chief executive of ABN Amro Asset Management.
