Paradigm Norton exec is new CISI IFP forum chair
Martin Ruskin CFP Chartered MCSI has become the new chairman of the IFP Forum within the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
He takes over the role of chairman from Ian Howe who has stepped down but remains a CISI member and CFP professional.
Mr Ruskin is head of business development at Bristol-based Paradigm Norton Financial Planning and has been deputy chairman of the CISI IFP Professional Forum since its formation in 2015 after the CISI merged with the IFP.
On his appointment, Mr Ruskin said: “This is a very exciting time in the growth of the profession of Financial Planning in the UK and I am honoured to take on the role of chairing the CISI IFP Forum, as it continues to assist its members to help shape the profession for the benefit of UK consumers.”
Jacqueline Lockie CFP Chartered FCSI, CISI head of Financial Planning said: “We are very pleased to welcome Martin as chair of our IFP Forum which represents the Financial Planning community’s interests at CISI. I’d like to thank Ian Howe for his enthusiasm and generous service to help build the Financial Planning community at CISI and we wish him well for the future.”
The CISI, which has 40,000 members worldwide, has nine professional forums which include the practitioner areas of: Bonds, Compliance, Corporate Finance, International Regulation, Financial Technology, IFP (Financial Planning), Operations, Risk and Wealth Management.
The CISI recently announced that it is to make significant changes to the pathway to its Certified Financial Planner qualification.
It was announced earlier this week that Paradigm Norton has merged with London-based Financial Planner The Red House to create a multi-office Financial Planning firm with 55 staff.
