PFS plans return to live events from November
ITN news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky will present an online news-style programme to mark the relaunch of the Personal Finance Society’s live events.
The professional body with 40,000 members says the Investment Events will be socially distanced and steps will be taken to keep attendees safe.
The PFS said: “Venues will be carefully selected to minimise any health risks and accommodate prevailing government advice.”
Despite the move most other planned live PFS events for the remainder of the year remain cancelled or rescheduled.
Ms Kaplinsky will host a programme called Financial Wellbeing being produced by the Personal Finance Society and ITN Productions Industry News.
The programme will focus on building public confidence and trust in the personal finance profession and will be shown at a series of live PFS events in the autumn.
The PFS said the programme invites Financial Planning experts to share examples of advice, best practice and initiatives that give consumers the knowledge they need to improve their financial futures.
Financial Wellbeing will also explore the financial education services and guidance offered to individuals who are unable to afford or access professional financial advice.
The programme will be shown from November at the Personal Finance Society’s specialist Investment Events as part of a communications campaign featuring PFS members, professional partners, journalists, writers, bloggers and government departments.

Keith Richards, chief executive of the Personal Finance Society, said: “The UK has seen a dramatic fall in its savings ratio in recent years placing increasing responsibility on the Financial Planning profession to empower consumers to take command of their own financial future.
“Raising the profile of engaging in Financial Planning at all stages in life has never been more important given the unforeseen impact of Covid on our economy and people’s lives. We are pleased to work with ITN Productions to produce an educational and informative programme about the value of consumers engaging in Financial Planning and their financial wellbeing which can make a real difference to people’s lives.”
