PlanHappy to launch adviser platform
Software, training and support services provider PlanHappy is to launch an adviser platform.
The platform will be powered by Octopus-owned Seccl.
PlanHappy said the new platform would compliment its existing range of training, software and support services, enabling it to become a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Financial Planners.
PlanHappy built its own bespoke front-end interface for clients and is also developing an adviser portal.
The team is also building analysis software, and has longer-term plans to incorporate cashflow modelling tools.
The platform will be connected via Seccl’s API.
PlanHappy was founded by Neil Parker of north-east-based Financial Planning firm Joslin Rhodes. The fintech was spun out of Joslin Rhodes as a separate company in 2018 and specialises in supporting individual Financial Planners and smaller firms.
Joslin Rhodes is a £200m financial advisory practice founded by Mr Parker in 2001.
Mr Parker said: “PlanHappy has been built by advisers, for advisers. As a result, we have a deep understanding of what advisers need from a platform (and what they could do without). We were convinced that the platform experience most advisers receive isn’t up to scratch – at times actively hindering productivity rather than supporting it. It was only natural, then, that we add a platform of our own to our growing range of productivity-boosting services.
“We wanted to go beyond the typical white label model and take much greater control of the overall experience that advisers and clients receive. In particular, we were adamant that the platform should be deeply embedded within our existing adviser portal, not bolted on as a separate tool.”
Investment platform Seccl powers several UK Financial Planning platforms. It is a regulated custodian and ISA/SIPP provider and is part of Octopus group which includes Octopus Investments.
