Quilter Cheviot, the high net worth division of wealth manager Quilter, has added a new client app and portal to help clients keep track of their investments.

The app and portal replace legacy versions and have been designed with greater usability and a more modern interface.

Both also bring increased security features via biometric login as well as a personalised feed of news and client events.

Quilter Cheviot added that it plans to launch a version of the new online service to financial advisers, allowing them to access details of client investments in a more streamlined way.

Clients prefer to deal with wealth managers using online platforms and mobile banking apps, according to recent research from fintech Avaloq.

When it asked investors about their preferred way of communicating with their wealth manager, online platforms ranked second (15%) only to email (26%), having increased in popularity from fifth place in 2023 (when 11.7% voted for them).

Mobile banking apps are now clients’ third most popular communication method (cited by 13%), up from 2023 when they came in at number six (when 9.5% chose them).

The new Quilter Cheviot app and portal have been built by the same team as the Quilter customer app which has been downloaded by over 165,000 clients and is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars on the Apple App Store.

Quilter encompasses the Financial Planning businesses, Quilter Financial Planning, the Quilter investment platform and Quilter Investors, the multi-asset investment solutions business. Quilter Cheviot includes the discretionary fund management business, Quilter Cheviot, together with Quilter Cheviot Financial Planning.
