Quilter Cheviot launches first Paraplanner Roadshow
Wealth manager and Financial Planner Quilter Cheviot is to launch its first roadshows dedicated to Paraplanners.
The half day morning events will explore the “changing nature” of the Paraplanner’s role and will take place at nine locations around the UK during September and October.
The ‘Looking under the bonnet: Preparing Paraplanners for success’ events begin in Glasgow on Tuesday 18 September 2018.
Expert speakers include Michelle Hoskin, director at Standards International and Edward Peach, Paraplanner at CashCalc.
Quilter Cheviot says the Paraplanner role is increasingly important within the financial advice community, whether as a career in its own right or as part of the path to becoming a financial adviser.
A company spokesman said: “We decided to create our own specialist roadshow for Paraplanners, recognising the additional responsibilities many in the profession are now taking on.
As well as offering an opportunity to network with other Paraplanners, financial advisers and the wider financial community, the roadshows will offer a variety of speakers, covering:
• How to channel your inner Shakespeare: This session is designed to help gain people’s attention and present often challenging data to the ‘smartphone’ generation.
• How do you eat an elephant? With the introduction of pension freedoms comes the responsibility to ensure that clients do not run out of money in retirement. The ‘known unknowns’ of retirement, namely longevity, inflation and market returns could make this a reality. This session helps explain why Capacity for Loss is more important than Attitude to Risk.
• Are you forgetting the most important part of the business? Greater regulation means Paraplanners can have less time to add value in their profession. Back office systems can save time and maximise office efficiency, with Paraplanners taking back control over work. The session will provide delegates with tips on how to work smarter with data.
• Cashflow planning best practices: Explore how best to use cashflow planning with clients, how to gather client data with more ease and greater
• Quilter investment experts will also look at economic drivers for the remainder of 2018 and what trade tensions might mean for the global economy.
Details of availability and how to book are available on the Quilter Cheviot website.
