Sainsbury’s Bank joins ABI associate membership
Sainsbury’s Bank has joined the Association of British Insurers (ABI) as an associate member.
Sainsbury’s was the first major supermarket to offer banking facilities and its range of financial products includes car, home, pet, travel and life insurance.
The ABI’s associate membership category was established in 2016 and now has around 30 members.
It is designed to serve companies with an interest in insurance and the work of the ABI but not eligible for full membership, such as legal firms, consultants, software firms and white label brands.
Associate members benefit from services including access to the full range of ABI statistics, industry updates, networking opportunities and reduced rates for ABI events.
The latest addition to associate membership comes a week before the ABI’s Annual Conference.
Huw Evans, ABI director general, said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Sainsbury’s Bank on board as our latest associate member.
“They are a highly recognisable brand providing insurance services to many thousands of customers and we look forward to a closer working relationship.”
Karen Hogg, head of insurance, Sainsbury’s Bank, Bank said: “We offer our customers a range of insurance at different cover levels and with offers and rewards tailored to them.
“We’re delighted to be members of the ABI which will help us stay close to industry data and trends so that we, and our insurance partners, can best serve the Sainsbury’s customer.”
