Schroders Personal Wealth hires new CTO
Schroders Personal Wealth, the joint venture Financial Planning arm of Schroders and Lloyds Bank, has appointed Graham Bastin as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
He joins the company from Barclays Bank.
Mr Bastin has over 30 years’ experience in the technology industry, mostly in ‘digital transformation’ in financial services.
At Barclays Bank had had several managing director roles in group technology. He established a modern technology centre and was instrumental in the development of digital, cloud and cyber technologies globally for the firm.
As Barclays chief information officer for UK retail banking he led a customer-focused shift towards a mobile and digital proposition for customers, clients and colleagues, Schroders said.
He will join Schroders Personal Wealth on 1 November, reporting to CEO Mark Duckworth.
Mr Duckworth said: “Graham has a strong track record of client-led technology transformation and a proven ability to deliver passionate colleague engagement. We believe his vast experience and skillset will be invaluable to our clients and the business as we continue with our ambition of growing the company to become one of the biggest financial planning businesses in the UK.
“Graham is joining us at an exciting and pivotal time in our journey. As a business we have made huge progress with our ambition of delivering more advice to more clients than any other financial institution. Graham will play a fundamental part in not only delivering, but improving our advice proposition, and making sure we continue to achieve our goals.”
