Financial Planning and wealth management group Shackleton has acquired Surrey-based firm Arundel Wealth Management, a specialist Financial Planning firm for sports professionals.
The deal was for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition adds more than £200m in assets under advice/management (AUA/M), and has already received approval from the Financial Conduct Authority.
Arundel is based in Dorking in Surrey and has been authorised since May 2007. According to its website it has a number of high-profile sporting clients including former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate, and others including Eddie Howe, Alec Stewart, Eoin Morgan, Mark Butcher, Stuart Broad, Matt Taylor, Simon Francis and Alan Smith.
It has nine staff, including founder and managing director Jon Alexander, and directors Dean Mayer and David Carroll.
Mr Alexander said: "Having built our business over some two decades, we carefully considered firms that would complement our unique approach and enable us to continue providing exceptional service to our clients, while also benefiting from the additional resources of a larger group.
“ Becoming part of Shackleton will allow us to invest in and grow our business, while ensuring our clients are able to benefit from its valuable resources, and its in-house investment team."
Shackleton was founded in December 2024 through the coming together of some of the country’s most respected Financial Planning firms.
Paul Feeney, CEO of Shackleton, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Jon Alexander, David Carroll, Dean Meyer and the rest of the talented team at Arundel to the Shackleton Group.
“This acquisition enhances our footprint in the South East and aligns perfectly with our ambition to become the most trusted provider of financial advice in the country. We recognise and understand the specific needs of many of Arundel’s clients, particularly in the professional sport sector, and we look forward to helping our new colleagues to support their clients.”
