SJP among CII Public Trust Award winners
The Chartered Insurance Institute has revealed the winners of its Public Trust Awards at a virtual ceremony hosted by CII President Julie Page this week.
A number of Financial Planners and industry professionals, as well as wealth manager St James’s Place, were among the winners.
The winners were:
Building Public Trust Consumer Champion Award: won by Johnny Timpson for his commitment to educating consumers about insurance and Financial Planning matters.
Consumer Inclusivity Initiative Award: won by St James’s Place Wealth Management for its inclusive ‘whole customer’ approach, which encourages consumers to consider how life events can impact their financial resilience.
Building Public Trust in Life, Pensions and Long-term Savings Award: won by Kevin Carr, chief executive of Protection Review, for action he has taken that resulted in increased trust in the profession.
Building Public Trust in Insurance Award: awarded to Claire Talbot-Jones, who has supported Newcastle-based Millin Charity, which helps women become self-employed and achieve financial freedom.
Building Public Trust Consumer Marketing and Awareness Award: won by Dubai-based Oman Insurance Company for their PR and marketing activity that has “educated and encouraged consumers to take action to improve their financial resilience.”
Talent Attraction Initiative of the Year Award: presented to the African-Caribbean Insurance Network for their work attracting fresh talent to the profession and retaining skilled people.
Honorary Fellowships were awarded to Dr Wang He, previously Vice President of People’s Insurance Company China, for his contribution to insurance scheme projects plus educational support to students, and Jane Portas for her involvement in the Insuring Women’s Futures initiative.
Presidents Awards were presented to Callum Beaton and Grant Scott, for their “significant contribution” to the work of the CII over many years.
Julie Page, President of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said: “One of the very pleasurable duties of a CII President, is to celebrate the efforts made by members and organisations across our profession to increase confidence and trust.
“Congratulations to the individuals and organisations who have shone so brightly and received a Public Trust Award during these challenging times.”
