Wealth manager St James’s Place has opened applications for its degree level apprenticeship scheme starting in September at its Cirencester head office.

The company says the technology apprenticeships will add to the nine places filled earlier this year.  

SJP is looking for a further seven technology apprentices to join its 2000-plus workforce from September.

The apprenticeships are aimed at people seeking a career in technology after leaving school or college following A-Levels or equivalent.

Alongside their work, they will be sponsored through a degree at the University of Gloucestershire. They will also undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. 

This year SJP launched a new recruitment process including assessment that can be conducted virtually.  

SJP’s Early Careers programme has served 377 apprentices, graduates, industrial placements and internships since it began the programmes in 2012.  This year the firm has already offered nine graduate level places and 10 paid two-week internships.

Nicki Williams, head of employee recruitment & early careers, said: “We’re really pleased to be offering our apprenticeship programmes again this year, especially as employment options for younger generations look to be severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. 

“We are excited to be offering degree level apprenticeships in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire, and supporting young people who wish to continue their studies which they would normally gain at university but can now do in the workplace. 

“The application process is understandably in a slightly different format, but the programme content remains the same, offering our next generation of leaders the training, development and freedom to choose how they build their path to success. We look forward to welcoming the next cohort in September.” 

The deadline for applications is 17 June.
