SME adviser acquires tax refund specialist
Specialist SME advice firm K3 Capital Group has acquired commercial property tax specialist HMA Tax for an undisclosed sum.
HMA Tax specialises in helping commercial property owners and investors identify unclaimed capital allowances.
HMA's software has helped generate Capital Allowance reports claiming over £500m in tax relief across 7,500 claims since the firm was founded by Tom Meredith and Duncan Chittick in 2014.
The firm has a turnover of around £2.5m.
HMA Tax will continue to be led by its founders and operate independently within the K3 Group.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Mr Chittick said: “This deal is an incredibly exciting opportunity to accelerate our growth. However, for our existing clients, it is strictly business as usual. Tom and I are committed to continue leading the business and we are looking forward to driving HMA Tax forward as part of K3.”
John Rigby, executive chairman of K3, said it sees the HMA Tax brand as having considerable growth opportunities and that K3’s central services such as data and marketing can help accelerate its growth within the SME market.
K3 is a multi-disciplinary professional services firm providing advisory services to SMEs.
Trading subsidiaries include KBS Corporate, KBS Corporate Finance, Knightsbridge Commercial, K3 Advantage, Market Mapping, Knight Corporate Finance, K3 Law, Quantuma, randd, Knight R&D and JEC Consulting.
