Taylor Patterson becomes accredited to help solicitors with CPD
Financial Planning firm Taylor Patterson is increasing its links with the legal profession after being accredited to provide CPD for solicitors.
The firm, based in Preston, said it was the first firm in Lancashire to be authorised by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority for this purpose.
This means it will be able to offer tailored financial courses for solicitors on topics such as wills, trusts, pensions arrangements and legislation changes. Seminars will be offered throughout the year.
Staff at the firm will be able to self-accredit all of its in-house training for the purposes of structured CPD. As an external provider it will be expected to calculate number of CPD hours in each course, grade each course by expertise, keep records of attendance and notify the SRA CPD department.

The SRA expects full-time solicitors to complete a minimum of 16 hours of CPD per year.
Jason Street, director at Taylor Patterson, said: "This accreditation is a huge step for the company as it demonstrates that we are in a position to share our collective knowledge and experience with the legal industry.
"We are delighted to be the only financial advisers in Lancashire accredited to provide this service and look forward to working with solicitors to develop their skills for the benefit of clients."
Taylor Patterson provides wealth management, Financial Planning, pensions, Sipps and SSAS advice to businesses and individuals.
