Three firms become IFP Accredited Financial Planning Firms
Three more firms have joined the Institute of Financial Planning's Accredited Financial Planning Firms register.
The new additions bring the total number of firms on the register, which was launched at the IFP annual conference in October 2011, to 54.
The three new firms are Acumen Financial Planning, Hannay Robertson and Ashburn Wealth Management.
Acumen Financial Planning is based in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Peterhead and has 17 staff. Its founder Sandy Robertson CFPCM FIFP was the first Scottish Financial Planner to become an IFP Fellow.
Hannay Robertson is based in Cambridge and was set up by Duncan Hannay Robertson CFPCM in May 2012. Mr Hannay Robertson is also co-chairman of the IFP East Anglia branch with Chris Adams CFPCM.
Ashburn Wealth Management is based in Darlington and led by managing director Nick Millar and director Stephen Waite.

Accredited Financial Planning Firms are those firms which demonstrate the highest professional standard and quality of Financial Planning. To qualify firms must demonstrate they provide a comprehensive Financial Planning structure and clear remuneration service.
They must also commit to the IFP Code of Ethics and Practice Standards and have appropriately qualified staff in place. At least 50 per cent of the firms registered advisers must be CFPCM.
All individuals providing financial service must also have been tested on their Financial Planning skills at an advanced level or be being mentored by an appropriately qualified Financial Planner.
From June, entries wil be open for the IFP's Accredited Financial Planning Firms award which will recognise the best-performing firm on the register.
