Financial Planner and discretionary investment management group Tilney has made a new senior appointment in London.
The firm has hired Paul Weyers as senior equity analyst in its Central Investment Team.
In this role, based in New Street Square, London, Mr Weyers will work alongside head of equities Andy Brown to “enhance Tilney's direct equity research capabilities”.
He joined from Brown Shipley, where he was senior fund manager with responsibility for direct equities within the multi-asset fund range.
Prior to this, he was an investment analyst at Co-Operative Asset Management and Alliance Trust.
Tilney has £24.4bn of assets under management, of which 76% are under either bespoke or centrally managed discretionary mandates.
Tilney’s research team covers funds, ETFs, investment companies, fixed income securities and both UK and international direct equities.
Andy Brown, head of equities, said: “Paul has over 10 years’ experience in the industry and will no doubt be a huge asset to our growing investment team.
“Tilney has one of the largest private client books in the UK, supported by a sizeable team of twelve analysts and over a hundred investment managers and advisers.
“This new appointment will stand us in good stead as we continue to develop our research capabilities and I am delighted to welcome Paul to the team.”
