Tilney strengthens investment team with new hire
Financial Planner and wealth manager Tilney has strengthened its investment team with a new hire.
The firm, which has £24.4bn in assets under management and advice, has hired Victoria Newlands as an investment adviser.
Ms Newlands has joined Tilney’s Mayfair office and reports to Sam Coppin, head of investment advisory.
She joined Tilney from Rathbone Investment Management where she worked as an assistant investment manager for four and a half years in the firm’s Winchester office.
Prior to embarking on her investment career, she worked for IBM as a business consultant.
Ms Newlands holds the Investment Advice Diploma and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI).
She has also passed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst programme. Sam Coppin, head of investment advisory at Tilney, said: “We are delighted to welcome Victoria to the team in London, where she will be responsible for advising private clients on their portfolios on a multi-asset basis, leveraging our sizeable research team and often working alongside our Financial Planners.
“We have seen strong growth in assets into our investment advisory in service in recent years, which sits alongside Tilney’s discretionary management capabilities, as an option for those clients who want the support of a trusted, professional adviser to make personal recommendations but prefer to remain involved in the decision making process over the selection of their investments.”
