Top planners to reveal successes and failures at event
A Financial Planning event will allow delegates to hear the successes and failures of their peers and provide a “shortcut to success.”
The PFS Power Live event could be the first of a number of such occasions, according to Steve Gazzard, one of the principal organisers.
Speaking exclusively to Financial Planning Today, he said: “We hope to be able to build on this and have future events on the same lines
“It is part of a bigger development within the PFS looking at the power of Financial Planning.
“We know that the regulator is very keen on technical competence and CII, but i think what the PFS acknowledge is that however you get the best consumer outcomes you’re building the best skills and processes.
“Power Live is about speakers talking about practice.
“The key thing for us is what does great practice look like now and what will it look like in the future.”
Mr Gazzard, who runs SJ Gazzard Consulting, revealed that work is currently under way on a new ‘Power Guide’ “that will be around the subject of great questions to ask clients.”
He said: “People talk about life planning and coaching, but one of the key things that planners can share is the great questions they’ve asked clients to enable them to build a really good financial plan.
“The guide will be building on what Mitch Anthony, who is the keynote speaker, will talk about.”
He said Mr Anthony was “the best speaker I have ever heard on Financial Planning.”
Mr Gazzard said so far around 200 people had snapped up tickets to the event, at the National Conference Centre Birmingham, on 5 June.
He said the event presented Financial Planners with a “shortcut to success” since they can hear about not only the successes, but the crucial failures and learning experiences, of their peers.
The event will see those who “have been there and tried it and know how hard it was to build” sharing the benefit of their knowledge with delegates.
