Towry recruits Glasgow-based Norscot financial services team
Wealth adviser Towry has announced that David Mills and his team from Norscot Financial Services and George Square Fund Managers (GSFM) will be joining its Glasgow office.
David Mills acquired Norscot in 1990 and founded GSFM as its wealth management arm in 2010. The two businesses currently advise around 900 clients in the Glasgow area. David Mills, Kerry McCartney, Pippa Watson and Simon McQueer will be joining Towry and will be relocating to Towry's Glasgow office on St Vincent Street in April.
David Mills and his team will continue to look after all former Norscot/GSFM clients with immediate effect and offer the full services of Towry, says Towry.
Andy Cowan, head of wealth Advice, Towry said: "The decision by David Mills and his team to join Towry and offer their clients Towry's advice and services underlines the strength of Towry's proposition as both an employer and a wealth advice business.
"We look forward to welcoming David and his team to our offices and developing strong relationships with his clients."
David Mills, managing director of Norscot Financial Services, said: "I am delighted to be joining Towry. We have received a number of approaches over the past few years but Towry clearly stood out as the right business partner for us.
With Towry's extensive investment management capability and specialists covering all areas of wealth advice, I am confident that this change is the right direction for our clients and will offer an added dimension to the service and advice that we will be able to deliver to them."
Towry is a wealth advice business employing approximately 650 people in 18 offices across the United Kingdom, managing £4.5 billion of discretionary client assets (as at 30 December 2011). Towry provides personal financial advice and investment management services to private individuals, families and trustees. Towry's investment management service is designed for clients with £100,000 or more to invest.
Towry is privately owned and its principal shareholders are Palamon Capital Partners, LP (a leading European Private Equity firm), and Towry employees. John Scott & Partners was formed in 1968 and in 2006 the company acquired Towry Law. The merged business was re-launched in 2007 as "Towry Law". Towry Law acquired Edward Jones Limited in November 2009 and, following integration of this company, the merged business was rebranded as "Towry" in May 2010.
Towry is one of a small number of firms appointed by Camelot to provide holistic financial planning advice to National Lottery winners.
