'Unconference' to be held for Paraplanners in September
Richard Allum CFPCM is holding a Paraplanner conference with a difference this summer called Paraplanner Powwow.
Mr Allum is founder of outsourced Paraplanning company The Paraplanners and a board member of the Institute of Financial Planning.
The event, billed as an 'unconference' will be held in a teepee in Northamptonshire on Thursday 19 September 2013.
The not-for-profit event will feature a 'powwow' for all delegates to discuss the professional status of Paraplanning including qualifications, CPD and professional bodies.
There will be smaller workshops, presentations by delegates, Q&A sessions and 'guru lectures' from expert speakers.

Mr Allum said: "We've had big demand for Paraplanner events to develop themselves professionally and technically and share best practice. The IFP Paraplanner conference was really great but not everyone is a member of the IFP and didn't get to go to that. And we don't want to wait another year to go to it!
"This session will be totally independent of any professional body, will be active rather than passive listening and will be a chance for Paraplanners to get together."
He said the sessions would be decided in advance by the Paraplanners themselves.
"We'll be sending out a survey and it will be very much led by the Paraplanners. The principle of 'unconference' is that they don't get told, they can choose what they want and be the deliverer of that."
Tickets, which went on sale today, cost £25 and there are around 50 spaces available. For people who want to stay overnight there are discounts available at the nearby Cartwright Hotel and The Deddington Arms.
