Walker Crips acquires Yorkshire HNW adviser
Walker Crips, the investment management firm with a Financial Planning-focused wealth management division, has acquired the assets and client book of Yorkshire-based high net worth specialist adviser firm MA Heap.
The wealth manager said the acquisition signals its intent to continue its expansion.
Dominic Martin, managing director at Walker Crips Wealth Management told Financial Planning Today that this growth will be both organic and via acquisitions.
The current owner of the firm, Mark Heap, will also join Walker Crips as a consultant to ease the transition of the clients.
Walker Crips is on a drive to grow its wealth management business. It recently hired Chartered Financial Planner James Bonarius to focus on business development and growing client relationships.
Mr Martin said: “Mark Heap has been advising clients for 30 years, and he has tremendous experience and expertise in the area of financial advice.
“We have had a longstanding relationship with Mark and we are pleased that he has put his trust in Walker Crips, to be the home for his clients, and to continue delivering excellent service to them. We are delighted to welcome Mark as a consultant to the company, personally ensuring that the transition will be smooth. Mark will also be involved in business development, helping to enlarge the client base for the company.
“This acquisition further signals our intent to continue to expand and grow the company.”
Earlier this week Mr Martin shared with Financial Planning Today his growth plans for the Walker Crips’ Financial Planning arm and why Financial Planners and wealth managers are a perfect fit.
Walker Crips Wealth Management is part of the Walker Crips Group. The Walker Crips Group is an investment manager, pensions and FinTech firm with a Financial Planning-focused wealth management division.
