WBR Group appoints Leicester lawyer
SSAS provider and tax adviser WBR Group has appointed corporate lawyer Roy Botterill as director of law.
He was previously at Shakespeare Martineau, where he served for many years as head of its Leicester office.
WBR Group established its legal services business in November 2023. WBR Law operates from offices in Leicester and London where small, dedicated teams provide clients with personalised legal services.
It operates as a separately-regulated business under the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Mr Botterill’s commercial law expertise will be part of an overall service WBR Group will offer to clients, particularly SMEs, who are seeking an exit or looking to pass the business down through the family.
WBR Law's existing leadership of Alan Simpson, Michael Conlon, and Anne Fendt each have more than 30 years of legal experience.
WBR Law is expanding its team further to include a paralegal, graduate trainee solicitor and administrative support. The additions reflect WBR’s commitment to fostering new talent, the firm said.
Tom Moore, chief executive of WBR Group said: “I have known Roy for many years, and I’m delighted he has decided to join us at WBR. His extensive experience in corporate law and his leadership skills will position WBR Group as a top choice for businesses seeking comprehensive commercial and related tax advice.”
Roy Botterill said: “I look forward to working with my fellow directors to further strengthen our service offering and to contribute to the firm’s continued success.”
WBR Group provides expert in-house solutions including SSAS administration and trusteeship, strategic tax, commercial property and actuarial advice. Established in 2016, the head office is in Leicester with offices in Bolton, Salisbury, London and Wimbledon and provides support to clients across the UK. The firm currently administers more than 4,000 SSAS with assets of more than £4bn.
