Ranked by American careers website CareerCast, 200 jobs were rated based on their physical demand, income, stress, environment and hiring outlook for the future.
This is the first time Financial Planner has been ranked in the top five, jumping up from 15 in 2011.
There is not a financial adviser on the list which indicates the USA perhaps does not make a particular differentiation between financial adviser and Financial Planner as separate jobs.
The description is that a Financial Planner ‘offers a broad range of services aimed at assisting individuals and planning for their financial future.’
One of the lowest factors in the category was stress with Financial Planners being given just 18/97 for the stress of the job which covered 11 points such as travel, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness and environmental conditions.
It was also seen to have good employment growth and income potential for the year 2020 and low unemployment rates.
Top of the list was software engineer followed by actuary, human resources manager and dental hygienist.
The findings follow earlier research which revealed financial adviser was one of the top five jobs in the business sector in America.
