Firstly, IFP chief executive Nick Cann CFP^CM gave a “warts and all” account for planners in achieving their gap fill in the least painful way and how to achieve that all important Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).

All of the “wheres”, “hows” and “whys” were debated together with a practical assessment in how to choose the right accredited body.

David Batchelor, of Wills and Trusts, a popular speaker, gave an insightful look as to how he uses trusts to solve many of his clients’ issues. David is a strong advocate of charging fees and gave delegates practical tips on how to provide sound, high quality and personable advice that would address client concerns around the protection of their assets for their family. He also suggested planners consider group presentations to utilise time in an effective way and maximise the number of prospective clients they reach.
