Her firm, Magenta Financial Planning, is seeing women needing advice approaching the firm every day who would prefer to speak to a woman.

Interviewed for the latest issue of Financial Planning Today magazine, she said: “I see almost every day more women needing advice and who would prefer to speak to a woman.

"This doesn’t mean male planners don’t get how to work with women, we know many that do this really well, however, the reality is that some situations that occur in life trigger vulnerabilities that make women want to talk to other women – in particular, divorce and bereavement.”

She added that she has found women clients hate jargon, three letter acronyms and being patronised.

She said: “Sadly often when women approach us, this is their only experience of the financial services profession.

“They don’t want to be bamboozled with fancy technical knowledge, they just want to trust that it’s a give you know all you need to deliver great advice.”

Financial Planning Today recently caught up with the Magenta Financial Planning MD to talk about the rapid growth of the firm since its launch in 2016 and plans for the future.
