Equanimity was set up by Chartered Financial Planner Helen Howcroft with the aim of providing holistic financial advice to a mainly female client base.

Equanimity has 12 staff serving mainly female, high-net-worth clients and business owners. It provides them with Financial Planning advice, wealth management and financial protection services.

Women going through divorce are also a specialist advice area focus for Equanimity.

Atomos says it will work closely with Ms Howcroft and her team to provide “inclusive advice” services, focusing initially on enhancing services for clients experiencing significant life changes.

The business will also look to increase its offer to people who typically may not have accessed financial advice, in line with the FCA’s focus on improving outcomes for under-served or vulnerable consumers, Atomos said.

Atomos, previously Sanlam Wealth, is owned by private equity firm Oaktree Capital Management and led by CEO Jonathan Polin. It manages £7bn of investments and savings for 8,000 clients and provides Financial Planning advice via 15 regional offices. The firm has a partnership with WTW to offer investment solutions including its Model Portfolio Service.
