Damien was formerly IFP Bristol branch chairman and has been a key member of the IFP's 2013 events committee.

Tony Sellon was a founder member of the IFP and a Past President who died of cancer in 2001. He is remembered in particular for his great sense of fun – a real "good egg". This prize is awarded in his memory. Known as the "good egg award", it is awarded to the individual judged to have contributed most to the success of IFP over the last year. Individuals are nominated by IFP members and the winner is decided by the IFP President, Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFP^CM.

At the conference, Mr Rylett was presented with the award by Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFP^CM.

Steve Gazzard CFP^CM, chief executive of the IFP, said: "We always get a number of very worthy nominations for this award and it is great to see how many of our members, volunteers, and supporters are valued by members who make the nominations.

"Damien has helped IFP staff with their own financial questions, and is always willing to provide constructive feedback on IFP initiatives. As well as being a former Branch Chairman, Damien has really helped with our events this year and even took a day out of his annual holiday at short notice, to visit a potential venue with me and Kath Morgans our events director".

Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFP^CM, President of IFP, said: "It never fails to impress me how many IFP members are prepared to go the extra mile, volunteering to help drive the profession forward and "give something back". Damien is a great example of this and thoroughly merits the title of "good egg."
