Richard Percy, Chairman of the NFU Mutual's Charitable Trust
Victims of the devastating floods in Somerset have been aided by a pensions and investment firm which has made a £50,000 donation through its charitable trust.
The money from NFU Mutual will help farmers and rural communities hit by the crisis on the Somerset Levels.
NFU Mutual's claims teams have used boats to visit flooded-out policyholders to inspect the damage to homes and businesses and have arranged alternative accommodation for families and helped evacuate livestock.

Richard Percy, Chairman of the NFU Mutual's Charitable Trust, said: "The floods are causing massive damage to homes, farms and businesses with thousands of acres under water for over six weeks.
"This means there will be severe difficulties long after the waters have receded – possibly for years to come.
"Farmers are facing a massive task to restore flooded land to production, and communities across the whole flooded area are going to need long-term support.
"NFU Mutual's Charitable Trust was established to help farmers and country people when disasters strike, so we are pleased to support the efforts being made by farming and community charities."
The donation will be made in equal parts to The Farming Help Partnership and the Somerset Community Foundation and it matches sums already pledged by the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Westminster.
NFU Mutual's Charitable Trust has made donations totalling over £1 million in the past decade.
