Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFPCM has also reiterated her desire and ambition to make Financial Planning the norm and get to a position where no one questions the difference to advice.
As she opened day two of the IFP annual conference, she implored delegates to spread the message of Financial Planning beyond those who come to the conference.
Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFPCM, addressing the hundreds of Financial Planners who have come to Celtic Manor, said:
"CFP numbers in the UK have steadily grown so that we now have over 1,000 practicing CFP licensees. But we need to continue to grow.

"For those of you who were awake through my first Presidents address 2 years ago, you may remember that I made a statement that I have a dream where one day Financial Planning would be the normal practice, no one would question what we did or what was different between Advice and Planning, it was just how things were done.
"In my heart I genuinely believe that this is where we should be, ethically and morally it is what we should be doing. To get to this point we still have a long way to go."
Ms Taylor said perhaps planners have been shouting about the profession too much among those who already know about it and not enough among those who do not.Ms Taylor, who is managing director of Dunham Financial Services, an award-winning Financial Planning business based in Peterborough, said: "So my request to you today is could we all maybe try to get out into the wider world and let someone else know what Financial Planning is all about?
"We have 2000 members, one of my fellow directors of the IFP, Ian Howe, suggested that every member try to bring in one more member.
"So instead of 2000 we become 4000 members. This means more expertise to learn from. More people to go through the CFPcm certification process, more CFPcm professionals to make a statement for the gold standard internationally for Financial Planners."
The President of the IFP also spoke of her excitement and pride about the annual conference as day two began.
The Wales based conference started with a series of expert speakers yesterday, though today features many of the main events.
This includes the new look gala awards evening tonight, as well as keynote sessions from Dr James Rouse and Partnership chief executive Steve Groves today.
