Origo, a not-for-profit organisation, will show a working proof of concept for the data feed engine that could sit behind the industry’s pension dashboards.
The Treasury said on Monday that a prototype of the Pensions Dashboard will be ready by March 2017, and 11 of the largest providers - Aviva, Aon, HSBC, LV=, NEST, Now: Pensions, People’s Pension, Royal London, Standard Life, Zurich and Willis Towers Watson, will build it.
Origo has been working on developing a low cost consumer-facing Pensions Dashboard, backed by major providers including Aegon, Ageas, Aviva, and AXA Wealth.
Bosses at Origo said they will use Twitter to demonstrate the system they have developed for the pension dashboard. The organisation said it was an industry first.
The demonstration takes place at midday for about 15 minutes.
In a statement, Origo said: “This should particularly appeal to Financial Planners, Paraplanners, financial advisers, trustees, and providers of pension schemes, pension administrators and anyone interested in seeing how the pension dashboard could work.
“It’s a walk through of the process with static images rather than video. The idea is to show what happens when the consumer first logs onto a pension dashboard and asks to see their pension information and what then occurs. “
The dashboard is going to make the lives of Financial Planners and their team “a lot easier in terms of data extraction once it is live”, Origo told Financial Planning Today.
In July, Origo demonstrated a proof of concept to a group of industry representatives including large pension providers, third-party administrators and other industry and government bodies.
Paul Pettitt, managing director of Origo, previously told FP Today: “As soon as the governance and identity verification process is decided, we believe dashboard can be quickly brought to market from a technology perspective.
“There is a strong will within the pensions industry to deliver a pensions dashboard. Origo is using its experience and expertise to help realise this within the 2019 timescale. Origo is working with a broad cross-section of the pension industry to develop the messaging standards and technology that will make it happen.”
Origo has also had backing for the project from Friends Life, Just Retirement, MetLife, Legal & General, Prudential, Royal London, Scottish Widows, Standard Life, Unum and Zurich.
