For IFP members looking to gain a new Level 4 qualification ahead of the new RDR framework, the IFP has followed the development of their Diploma in Professional Financial Advice. This qualification meets all the learning outcomes defined by the FSA and was one of the first qualifications to be approved as meeting all the new standards. It is fully RDR-compliant, and approved by the FSA for retail investment advisers and advisers of packaged products.
According to Lucy Courtenay, qualifications director at the IFP: “Calibrand examinations are proving popular, particularly because of the quality of their (free) learning materials and the opportunity to take a mock test online before entering the actual exam. Also free resits are available to those who’ve done adequate preparation, prior to sitting the exam. They are well worth a look if you want an alternative to the more established providers.” The Diploma provides a good entry route to Certified Financial PlannerCM certification.
