FCA issues scam warning over wealth management firm
The FCA has issued a scam warning over an unauthorised wealth management firm.
The regulator highlighted Harper Wealth Management as a company which it believes has been providing financial services or products in the UK without its authorisation.
The FCA warned consumers to be “especially wary of dealing with this unauthorised firm.”
A statement read: “Almost all firms and individuals offering, promoting or selling financial services or products in the UK have to be authorised by us.
“However, some firms act without our authorisation and some knowingly run investment scams.
“This firm is not authorised by us and is targeting people in the UK.
“Based upon information we hold, we believe it is carrying on regulated activities which require authorisation.”
The unauthorised firm’s details are:
Harper Wealth Management
Address: 80 – 83 Long Lane, London, EC1A 9ET

The firm’s website says it is part of another company called Spectre Investments.
The FCA added: “We strongly advise you to only deal with financial firms that are authorised by us, and check the Financial Services Register to ensure they are.”
When Financial Planning Today called the firm, for a comment on the FCA warning yesterday, we were told: “I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
“You’ve come through to the switchboard and I’m not the best person to speak to.”
The member of staff was unable to provide the names or contact details of any other appropriate person and hung up the phone.
