Aspiring Chartered Financial Planner, Ben Slater, scooped the ‘High Achiever of the Year’ award, James Batchelor was awarded the ‘Best Performance in Exams’ prize and David Britton was recognised for achieving prestigious Chartered Status and for becoming a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Mr Slater, 23, a Financial Planner at the Midlands-based firm, received his award from Juliet Williams, the Nottingham Institute President.
Ms Williams said: “His cashflow planning is second to none in the company and his technical understanding allows him to pass on key knowledge to his colleagues.
“There is no doubt that Ben will soon be one of the industry’s youngest Chartered Financial Planners.
Mr Slater said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised in this way by the Nottingham Chartered Insurance Institute.
“The culture of learning within The RU Group inspires us to be the best we can in our roles and I am working hard towards achieving Chartered Status.
“It is a real honour to learn from my peers and colleagues and be part of such a great team.”
Ian Browne, head of advice at The RU Group, said: “Ben’s positive and helpful attitude since he joined us as an apprentice has made him a real asset to our team.
“His thirst for knowledge, coupled with his head for figures and excellent IT skills make him a positive role model for other young people looking to join our business.”
Other members of The RU Group team were also recognised by the Nottingham CII, for achievements in 2018, in what the firm described as a “landmark year for exam success.”
James Batchelor passed 10 exams in the last year and was awarded the ‘Best Performance in Exams’ prize.
His colleague David Britton was also recognised for his double achievement of attaining Chartered Status and being awarded Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society.
