Brown Shipley bolsters Edinburgh office with new hires
Brown Shipley, the wealth and investment management firm, has added two new appointments to its Edinburgh office, including an executive from a Financial Planning firm bought by the company in 2015.
Andy Bolden, a wealth planner formerly with Chartered Planners Hampton Dean in Nottingham, is relocating from Brown Shipley’s Nottingham office which was acquired when the business bought Hampton Dean. Rhona McColl join as business development manager.
Ms McColl worked previously as senior investment manager at Legal & General and will be responsible for promoting the Edinburgh office and its wealth management services across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Drawing on his 30 years of industry experience, Mr Bolden will help the Edinburgh office broaden its proposition for clients in Scotland and Northern Ireland, a move aligned to Brown Shipley’s overall strategy of being a full service wealth manager across all offices.
He has worked with a range of clients, including those in the medical and academic professions. He joined Brown Shipley in 2015 following the acquisition of Hampton Dean, a Nottingham-based Chartered Financial Planners, where he had been a financial consultant since 2001. Hampton Dean had 20 advisers and 50 staff overall. It formed Brown Shipley’s new Nottingham office when it was acquired.
Paul Embleton, head of Brown Shipley’s Edinburgh office, said: “I am delighted to welcome Rhona and Andy to our experienced team in Edinburgh. Rhona will play an important role working closely with our network of intermediaries and supporting our pipeline of new business. Andy’s appointment is exciting as it broadens our range of expertise and the services we can offer our clients.”
The new additions follow the appointment of Paul Embleton, who has been with Brown Shipley since 2009, as the head of Edinburgh office in April this year. The Edinburgh office services a broad client base including private clients, charities, pensions and personal injury trusts.
