Carmignac added to Distribution Technology risk ratings
Two of Carmignac's funds are now risk-rated by Distribution Technology, a provider of risk profiling and Financial Planning tools for advisers.
The flagship global balanced Carmignac Patrimoine and the multi-asset class Carmignac Portfolio Capital Plus funds have been respectively rated 5 and 3 out of a maximum risk of 10. A risk rating score between 1 and 10 gives an indication of the level of volatility that an underlying investment, such as a fund, is expected to experience over a period of time.
Carmignac funds are available on most UK platforms including Ascentric, Cofunds, Allfunds, Fidelity's FundsNetwork, Raymond James, Axa Wealth Elevate, Accordias, 7IM, Transact and Novia.
Eric Helderlé, chairman of Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg, said: "Risk ratings are one of the tools used by IFAs in their asset allocation strategies, so these new fund ratings will make it easier for advisers to assess their suitability for clients. This is a new milestone in our UK distribution drive as UK investors are increasingly appreciating the value of investing globally in all asset classes.
"Carmignac Patrimoine's outstanding long term track record and Carmignac Portfolio Capital Plus' diversified strategy with a controlled volatility both make sense in the current market and are well-suited for UK investors."

Chris Fleming, head of the Financial Analytics Team at Distribution Technology, added: "Carmignac Gestion is an increasingly popular choice among intermediaries. Having a Dynamic Planner risk profile for its Carmignac Patrimoine and Carmignac Portfolio Capital Plus funds, advisers will be better placed to advise their clients and match their risk profile."
Founded in 1989 by Edouard Carmignac, Carmignac Group is a European asset manager. Its capital is held entirely by managers and staff and it has close to €50 billion of assets under management. It has developed a limited range of funds covering all asset classes – equities, bonds and diversified with the objective of providing consistent returns and low volatility for investors.
Distribution Technology was founded in 2003 and serves more than 200 intermediary firms.
