CII to provide free personal finance study texts
The Chartered Insurance Institute is to provide free digital study texts to personal finance students concerned they may be unable to sit their assessments before the end of August due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The professional body says that if a personal finance student is unable to take their assessment before the expiry of their 2019 to 2020 study text, the CII will add a 2020 to 2021 digital study text.
It will also add any revision aids purchased to their RevisionMate account along with an assessment extension.
The body says the guarantee will also be extended to study texts and revision aids for those enrolling between now and the current expiry date.
The Chartered Insurance Institute has already postponed written exams due to take place between April until October.
The latest information about exam sittings is on the CII’s Coronavirus update page: https://www.cii.co.uk/news-insight/coronavirus-hub/.
Gill White, learning and assessment director of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said: “We want to reduce the worries of our members and make it as easy as possible for (students) to continue with their professional studies while they follow government guidance to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
“By giving students a free renewal to their digital text I hope we can alleviate at least one concern they may have in these unprecedented times and help them continue to develop the knowledge needed to serve the public as well as advance their professional careers.”
This guarantee currently only applies to personal finance study texts and a limited number of insurance unit texts.
The end of the academic year for most insurance units is December 2020 and at present assessments are still due to take place in October.
