Colyer wins Chartered Planner of the Year Award
Michael Colyer, principal of SJP practice Colyer Associates in Yorkshire, has won the prestigious Chartered Financial Planner of the Year Award.
Mr Colyer FPFS, has won several awards previously and has had a long career spanning financial services, industry, accountancy practice and the armed forces.
He is a Chartered Financial Planner, Chartered Wealth Manager and also a Chartered Accountant (although not currently practising). He is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners and his first first degree was in engineering at Cambridge. He is a keen cyclist and is off to Japan shortly for a 10 day cycle trip.
Colyer Associates is based in Pickering in North Yorkshire and is a St James's Place partner practice.
His award was presented today to a delighted Mr Colyer at the 2024/25 PFS Personal Finance Awards held at a lunchtime ceremony in central London hosted by TV personality Davina McCall.
The PFS says the annual awards celebrate excellence and achievement within the Financial Planning profession.
In other awards presented, Five Wealth won the Chartered Financial Planning Firm of the Year with a special President's Award going to Progeny Wealth.
Scott Daniels FPFS won the Paraplanner of the Year Award.
In the PFS Personal Finance Media Section trade publication FT Adviser was voted winner with Financial Planning Today short-listed as a finalist.

Judging for the awards involves a detailed process in which each submission is assessed carefully to ensure the most deserving individuals and firms are recognised, the PFS said. The Personal Finance News Outlet of the Year is decided by a PFS member vote.
