The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment has confirmed it will move its headquarters to the Walkie Talkie Building on August 1 – and that exam entrants will be unaffected.

The CISI’s office will be situated on the third floor of the building, officially known as 20 Fenchurch Street. Its new home is about 500ft away on foot from the current offices at 8 Eastcheap.

The institute has said that it decided to move after outgrowing its current offices.

Email addresses and phone numbers for the CISI will stay the same after the move. Officials have advised those who are currently booked on a CISI exam that the location for taking the exam will not be switched.

In an email to members this week, the CISI stated: “If you are due to sit a CISI exam your exam venue will not be changing.

“The CISI London test centre, located at Pinnacle House, 23-26 St Dunstan's Hill, London EC3R 8HN, will remain at its current address.

“If you are booked on to attend a CPD event or training course that takes place after 1 August 2016, you will be emailed confirmation of the new venue shortly.”

The 37-storey Walkie-Talkie skyscraper was one of the first major office buildings in the City to be built after the financial crisis and apart from office space, it has a popular Sky Garden open to the public at the top.

In a message to members earlier this year, the CISI stated: "The rent for this new office space is average, not premium, and is less than what we would pay if we were to remain at our current location. The lease on our current premises is due to end in August 2017."
