'Fantastic' Paraplanning conference closes for third year
The annual Institute of Financial Planning Paraplanner conference has come to a close for a third year. The conference was attended by 125 delegates, including almost 100 Paraplanners from all over the UK, and held at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwick.
Speakers included Michelle Hoskin from Standards International, Mark Polson from the lang cat, Paula Kerr from Executive Coach and Tony Wickenden from Technical Connection.
Feedback from delegates reported Mr Polson, Ms Kerr and Justin Urquhart Stewart from 7IM were particularly popular sessions although there was an even split between the track sessions.
There was also an exhibition area with firms such as 7IM, who sponsored the event, Novia, Just Retirement and Standard Life.
Richard Allum, IFP Board member and founder of The Paraplanners said: "It's been a really fantastic atmosphere here and people have been really willing to share their ideas with each other. A lot of Paraplanners can be working in isolation and to come together at a dedicated Paraplanner event with 120 of their peers is a great opportunity."
The IFP also posted results from its Paraplanning survey which revealed interesting demographics about the sector. Some two thirds were female, 46 per cent earnt over £30,000 and over half were aged 25-34.
Regarding qualifications, a third were graduates, 62 per cent held Level 4 qualifications and 21 per cent held the CFPCM qualification.
Full coverage of the conference is available on financialplanneronline.co.uk in the news and Paraplanning section and on Twitter feed @FPM_Online.
Next year's conference will be held on 21-22 May 2014.
