Financial Planner hires new head of talent
Financial Planner and wealth management group Tilney has hired a new head of talent.
Catherine Davies has been appointed in the newly-created role of head of talent, resourcing & development, to support the business in attracting, assessing, recruiting, inducting, training and developing current and future colleagues.
She will report to Gaynor Gillespie, Group HR director and be based in the company’s Mayfair office.
Ms Davies started her career in Financial Planning, as a branch manager for Abbey National, prior to moving into PR & media relations for the bank.
She then moved into recruitment consultancy which led to her becoming the HR director of an SME which more than doubled in size during her tenure.
In 2005 she set up her own Interim business and has spent the last 13 years helping companies to consider – or often reconsider – their approach to people-related challenges.
The companies she worked with ranged in size from nine people to over 80,000.
Over her career, she has worked across various sectors, geographies and size of companies including Barclaycard, BAT, Bovis Lend Lease, Coller Capital, Imperial Brands, NEX Finance, Shawbrook Bank and Wolseley UK.
Ms Gillespie said: “Tilney has cemented itself as one of the leading wealth managers in the industry and is fully committed to investing in our employees.
“Their development, technical expertise and career progression are critical to our continued growth, so I am delighted to augment our HR team capability with Catherine’s experience specifically in the talent and resourcing areas.”
