Financial Planners gained 'million pound clients' from campaign week
Financial Planning firms gained three or four new ‘million pound clients’ as a result of Financial Planning Week this year, it was revealed this morning.
Jackie Lockie CFPTM Chartered FSCI, CISI deputy head of Financial Planning, told delegates at the CISI Financial Planning Annual Conference that the campaign had gone extremely well.
Some firms involved had gained three or four new ‘million pound clients’ through the week long initiative, which was set up to push Financial Planning into the public spotlight.
Furthermore, an article from the CISI in the Daily Mail about Financial Planning Week had yielded an enormous number of enquiries to the CISI as a result, she reported, saying it had become “complete madness” the day afterwards.
The office had 600 phone calls in 24 hours. The two staff tasked with talking to members of the public were “flat out” after it was published.
She said: “Financial Planning Week this year was a phenomenal success and it was a great asset having the CISI behind us.
“The marketing power that they brought to Financial Planning Week was phenomenal.
“This was a great example of the muscle they can put behind the marketing drive.”
Some 42 firms got involved in the campaign, including Standard Life’s new Financial Planning arm 1825.
Financial Planning Week, originally an IFP initiative, returned in June.
The IFP ran the campaign for seven years before the merger with the CISI in November 2015. The previous one took place in November 2014.
Firms held free surgeries and offered financial advice sessions for consumers in person, via Skype or over the phone with no charge.
